Why and how did you choose these projects?
When selecting projects, we refer to the opinion of climate experts. Our project mix was put together alongside experts who recommend these countries and ways of offsetting in order to achieve the greatest possible impact. In addition, we want to achieve eco-social progress through our projects besides 'just' offsetting CO₂. In our project countries Peru, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh and India this is exactly what we can achieve.
Why are no local projects included in the mix?
A ton of CO₂ offset in Europe has the same effect on the climate as, for example, an offset ton in Peru or India. CO₂ does not know any boundaries. Regardless of this, 1€ contributed to CO₂ offsetting can have much more impact abroad.
Are the projects certified?
Yes. Our projects in Peru are certified by VCS (with CCBA gold medals). BOKU Vienna certifies our project in Bangladesh. Our project in India is certified by the UN (UNFCCC). The well restoration project in Sierra Leone is certified by the Gold Standard.
How do you divide contributions among projects?
Your contribution is split roughly evenly between our projects (Water, Forest, Energy). Together they offset your emissions.
Can I choose which projects to support?
Currently there is no possibility to split your monthly contribution individually. The diversity of our project mix maximises ecological and eco-social impact.

Why compensate — isn't reducing enough?
To limit the temperature rise to 1.5 °C, every person should emit no more than around 0.7 t CO₂/yr by 2100. Even with a vegan diet and no flying or driving, the average footprint is ~3.2 t — almost 5× too much. Reducing and offsetting the unavoidable rest is the only realistic path to net zero today.

How do you offset my exact emissions?
Your monthly contribution depends on your exact emissions, and we are legally liable to use it to make you climate neutral. Certificates are matched and independently reviewed.
Shouldn't companies go climate neutral first?
Yes — and we work with companies that genuinely reduce. We turn down clients who don't fit our philosophy: calculate – reduce – compensate.

Is TeamClimate a charity?
No. Offsetting contributions are the purchase of emission reduction certificates from our projects.
Is my monthly contribution a donation?
No — legally it's a purchase of certificates, not a donation.
How is the contribution amount set?
Pre-assembled plans use the average footprint; if you calculate your own footprint, the amount matches your exact emissions.
Where does my money go?
Your contribution funds your climate neutrality — from project monitoring to platform operations, fully audited.
Do I get a monthly invoice?
Yes — available in your profile under settings.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes, any time in your profile under settings.
Which payment methods are accepted?

What does it mean to offset flights?
Carbon offsetting reduces the exact emissions caused by your flight via our certified projects — rainforest, wind and clean water.
How are flight emissions calculated?
Using DEFRA data, including cabin class and altitude radiation factor.
Are flight offset projects certified?
Yes — UNFCCC, BOKU Vienna and CCBA Standard certifications.
How can I reduce my flight emissions?
Fly less, take direct flights, choose economy, and check whether your airline reduces fuel use.
Why is there a 6.50€ minimum?
A smaller amount would understate short-haul impact. We over-offset to make up for it.
Is my flight contribution a donation?
Legally it's a certificate purchase, not a donation.
Which payment methods are accepted?

What is the Wild Impact Club?
A movement for people who want to actively protect biodiversity and restore nature via verified biodiversity credits.
What is the project about?
Our first initiative supports Banco de Hábitat Bosque de Niebla — El Globo, a 340 ha cloud forest project in Támesis, Colombia, with legal protection for 30 years.
Why does this matter?
80% of biodiversity loss is caused by habitat destruction. You help protect species like the Spectacled Bear and Yellow-eared Parrot.
Why support biodiversity?
Biodiversity projects protect entire ecosystems and create economic opportunities through eco-tourism and sustainable industries.
How is the project structured?
A 30-year project in Támesis, Colombia covering 340.11 ha. Managed by Terrasos and registered with Colombia's Ministry of Environment.
How is it certified?
Registered with MADS, following Resolution 1051/2017 and the P4F Protocol for Voluntary Biodiversity Credits. Tracked via blockchain.
